Where are the Answers?

Over the past several days Sarawak Report has revealed a number of facts relating to the Taib Family’s vast foreign property investments. Our investigations have exposed a real estate portfolio worth hundreds of millions of US dollars in Canada, Australia and the United States and we have shown how they are owned and directed by Taib’s own brothers and children.
However, so far, the Chief Minister has failed to respond to our allegations or to answer two questions, ‘Where did the money come from?’ and ‘How much of this property does he beneficially own?’.
Indeed, the Chief Minister has made only one significant response to our well-documented exposes. This week he forbade all newspapers in Sarawak to publish news about the lavish riches enjoyed by himself and his family. Such an act merely shows the extent of his dilemma and his embarrassment. Clearly he cannot deny the Taib family ownership of the properties in question, because it is all documented in official registries in different countries, which are available on-line to the public. He has therefore only silence and suppression to turn to in order to hide his embarrassment.
This is a sign of weakness and failure in an old man. Surely he knows that everyone in Kuching is talking about his greed? Does he plan to ban all conversations including the phrases ”Chief Minister” and “unexplained wealth” in the same sentence?
Meanwhile, he continues to support the ill-treatment and attacks by logging companies and police against native peoples who are trying to protect their rightful lands from rapacious timber and plantation companies. He is doing this even though the Malaysian Federal Courts have upheld that ownership of Native Customary Rights Lands cannot be removed by the State.
Why does Taib Mahmud always support the actions of the timber companies against his people? Could it be because they are paying him in kickbacks and that this is how the Taib family afford their International Property Empire? He needs to reassure the world that this is not the case, but it seems he cannot.
Again Abdul Taib Mahmud needs to explain how he and his family came by their riches and he must reveal just how much of the Taib family property empire is owned and directly controlled by him.

HE WILL NOT ANSWER THOSE QUESTION….HE WILL KEEP DENYING….HE SHOULD RETIRE NOW….AND RETURN BACK THE MONEY…..TO THE PEOPLE OF SARAWAK
Thanks a lot for the blog post. Will read on…
Well, don't blame Taib. Blame Kuala Lumpur and Umno for not taking against him and a few other BN leaders. They are simply impotent against the Chief Minister because Umno and Kuala Lumpur need all the seats they can get in order to stay in power at the federal level. So, it is simple: Don't touch Taib and we will be okay.
federal n umno cannot take action against him because if they do, he has all it takes to pull sarawak out of malaysia
All hail the Sarawak Marcos!! Ferdinand Mahmud Taib. All this while giving the impression of a God fearing creature. Even if you may escape in this world, you will never escape in the Hereafter.
What about back in Sarawak and Malaysia? 84% ownership of CMS by his family including his wife. Plus all the subsidiaries. And what about UBG? And their ownership of Putra Perdana, Loh and Loh etc? Add that all up, he has a lot lot more. Just check out all the projects given to CMS and its subsidiaries? Over the past 30 years, it amounted to a lot of contracts given without tender (and even if there is one, it must be rigged. DUN was awarded to CMS. And many more roads and bridges and maintenance.
Shookdev, when Mahatir's son was in trouble he took a dig on Taib's wealth and he paid big to rescue his son.
When Abdullah became PM he gave Taib 6 months and the helicopter trip in the air hovered for a long time and after that he remained CM till today!
Why?
W Malaysians are here only to dig gold! They couldn't care who dig the gold here but when they need it, they just open their mouths and this gold digger will take out and share some with them.
Don't blame CM? If he is got rid off, there is no more gold digger for them. A new one may come but it will take time.
So can you get rid of the CM?
I think he will remain till he dies in the office as the rural folks could see no one but him as they had been deceived and cowed into human machines only to see one side of the coin only.
Sad!
BUJANG….100% AGREE WITH U.HE WILL REMAIN UNTIL HE DIES IN THE OFFICE. HE LIVE LIKE A KING.
The rural supporters really don't have much power against Tiab as they are mostly poor and ill educated. They can't see or plan too far ahead.
May be of interest, still very much a work in progress as there is a lot to go through

We only have ourselves to blame… "we" made voted and now he is "up there" while we are left complaining downhere.
this kind of person never satisfied….he want more than others….next election choose new CM….
taib has proven guilty to the state of sarawak,Taib's step down is not sufficient to bring justice to the sarawakian,
what is more important is to get rid of this present government in the next general election
Erm denke ich mag die Sehnsucht Neujahrsnacht still und klar, deutet auf ein gutes Jahr!
NOW IN THE NEGOTIATION STAGE,A PIECE OF LAND BELONGING TO THE IBANS IN TISA.SKRANG IN SRI AMAN ARE IN THE FINAL STAGE OF NEGOTIATION BETWEEN TAIB'S SON AND GOVERNOR'S SON TOGETHER WITH CHAIRMAN OF FELCRA TO ACQUIRE THE LAND FOR OIL PALM PLANTATION.
