“My Wife Is Canadian!” – Sean Murray Exposes Jamilah’s Dual Nationality!

Sean (Hisham) Murray, husband of Taib’s daughter Jamilah, appears to have unwittingly exposed his wife’s illegal dual nationality!
Under BN’s own strict laws, Malaysians are not allowed two passports and they have to surrender their Malay nationality if they take citizenship elsewhere.
However, last week Murray told a Canadian TV company his wife was a “Canadian citizen”, although she is clearly registered as a Malay in the numerous companies that she owns in Sarawak.
It is common knowledge that Malay nationality is valuable for shareholders and directors of Malaysian companies, because most government contracts require that companies should have ‘Bumiputera Status’. This means they should be at least 51% owned by indigenous Malay nationals.
However, if Jamilah has decided to take Canadian citizenship, she should have surrendered that status under Malaysian law.
“My wife and I are private Canadian citizens”!
For these reasons the statement by Sean Murray to Canada’s Global TV last week, is extremely embarrassing. He told the company, “my wife and I are private Canadian citizens”. Yet company records in back in Malaysia clearly state the opposite.
We can demonstrate that 51 year old Jamilah still claims Malaysian citizenship in all the documentation concerning the 87 companies, where we have identified her as a shareholder and director. Her ID card number is given as 600919-71-5044 and she is registered at Wisma Mahmud, the Headquarters of CMS.

Still on the register!
Perhaps even more controversially, Jamilah is still registered to vote in the upcoming Malaysian election! If the daughter of the Chief Minister has ceased being Malay, by virtue of taking Canadian citizenship, she more than most should know that it is encumbent on her to remove herself from the electoral roll!
Yet another irregularity! - If Jamilah is now a foreigner she should not be on the electoral roll
So, Sean Murray’s self-pitying statement has landed his wife in plenty of hot water!
He made the slip-up while trying to explain to the prime time show 16X9 why he and his wife were reluctant to be interviewed for a programme about deforestation in Sarawak, which asked questions about the investments by the Taib family in Ottawa, Canada.
In the letter Sean Murray claimed that he and Jamilah have not transferred profits from Sarawak into their multi-million dollar property empire in Canada, the US, Australia and the UK.

The wording of the letter, which could be seen on screen says:
“My wife and I are private Canadian citizens. She has lived here for more than 30 years and we have no interest in being interviewed in the press about ourselves, our business, our relatives or about Malaysian politics…. you should know we neither take part in Malaysian politics nor speak for the Chief Minister” [Sean Murray]
Need for immediate clarification
Given the contradiction between this public statement and the public documents in Malaysia, it is plainly necessary that Hisham and Jamilah Murray now clarify their nationality status. The people of Sarawak and the authorities in Malaysia are entitled to know the legal position of one of the country’s largest shareholders, who is also the recipient of large amounts of taxpayers’ money for public projects.
Since dual nationality is treated as a crime by the Malaysian government (although other countries sensibly treat it as perfectly legal) Jamilah should not expect to get away avoiding the penalties, just because of who her Daddy is. These penalties could involve the revoking of her citizenship, if she does not forego her Canadian passport.
Surely people in Malaysia deserve better than a bunch of politicians, who act as if they and their families are above the very laws they create?
No money taken from Sarawak – it is just “passive investment”

Sean Murray’s personal letter to the TV Station was accompanied by a separate legal letter that was also shown on screen. This also raised more confusion about the couple’s links to Sarawak.
On the one hand the letter acknowledged Sarawak Report’s findings that the Ottawa company, Sakto, was started by the Taibs and that the Chief Minister had given his daughter money. However, it claimed that none of the money made by Jamilah in Sarawak is ever invested in their companies abroad:
“Jamilah Murray has some passive investments in Malaysia, but Sakto and Sakti, and Sean Murray do not. On the question of whether any of that money has been used to fund Sakto projects in Canada or Sakti in the U.S., the answer is no”
This leaves some glaring questions about what Jamilah does with the massive profits made from her enormous number of Sarawak companies or indeed whether she really is the owner, not just a name on a piece of paper!

So, the Murrays need to own up and tell people exactly what is going on, given the huge amount of public contracts that have been put in the way of Sarawak companies which they own or are directors of.
Sean Murray’s further attempt to imply that he personally has no interests in Sarawak should also be properly explained. He has in fact been involved in at least two of the state’s most important recent construction projects, which have both been supported by Taib’s own Government in Kuching.
These are the latest Isthmus development project for a major hotel and retail complex, driven by the firm Premier Cottage Sdn Bhd, of which he is a director, and the Kuching Tower, for which his firm in Canada was the project manager.

Indeed nothing could be further from the truth than the claim by the Murrays’ lawyer that ”my clients have no interest or involvement in the politics of Malaysia”!
The lawyer even alleges that it is Sarawak Report and not his clients, which has “a declared political interest” in Malaysia.
But, Sarawak Report does not have investments worth billions of ringgit, which all depend on the munificence of a family member for as long as he remains in power. Jamilah on the other hand does, and therefore by definition has an interest and involvement in the politics of Malaysia, which she so strenously denies.

Our growing body of evidence shows that the involvement of Sean and Jamilah Murray in Daddy’s regime and business ventures goes far further that the “passive investment” acknowledged in their lawyers letters.
In fact, the links between the Murrays and Taib’s business helpers show strong business ties between the Sarawak potentate and his daughter and son-in-law, who act as directors of so many of the companies he has started up worldwide.

Making use of dual citizenship is illegal under Malaysian law. The other thing is capitalizing on its illegitimate status to further one's own commercial interests is like telling the illegal to do an illegal job for an illegal purpose. The writing on the wall says " illegal"

Infact the Melanau is not even a sub tribe of the Malay. It is just a different tribe altogether! GEORGE TOWN: A group of prominent politicians and social activists from East Malaysia are seriously contemplating pulling out Sabah and Sarawak from the Federation of Malaysia.
They are planning to take up their case to the United Nations to hold a referendum on the status of the Borneo states as independent nations.
They no longer want their states to be under the clutches of the Umno-led Putrajaya administration.
The group has already sought legal advice from the international community to explore all orderly and democratic means to legally declare Sabah and Sarawak as separate sovereign states.
Sources said the group was keen to avoid any civil unrest, bloodshed and armed conflict with the central government, features usually associated with separatist movements.
“They want to resolve the pressing issue by peaceful and civilised means,” said the source.
It’s learnt that about seven representatives from the group met London-based Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) chairman P Waytha Moorthy in Indonesia early this week to discuss the matter.
Sources close to the group said the activists sought Waytha Moorthy’s help to facilitate their imminent representation in the UN.
It’s learnt that Waytha Moorthy had agreed to assist them, with the help of several influential international organisations.
Waytha Moorthy recently facilitated a group of activists to air their grouses and grievances against the federal government at the UK Parliament.
'Systematic looting and plundering'
The group of activists are deeply perturbed by the federal government’s alleged violations of the states’ rights, interests and benefits for more than four decades since the formation of the Federation of Malaysia in 1963.
“The group is angry over the systematic looting and plundering of the states’ wealth by Umno and its cronies,” said a source.
Sabah, Sarawak, Malaya and Singapore formerly joined Malaysia in 1963. However, Singapore left the Federation in 1965.
The Sabah and Sarawak activists believe that just like Singapore, their states too can pull out from Malaysia.
Sabah and Sarawak are two natural resources rich provinces in Malaysia, with massive wealth potentials in oil reserves and forestry.
However, Sabahans and Sarawakians are convinced that they have remained poor due to the federal government's “manipulation and usurpation” of their power to self-determine their own affairs.
Unhappy over petro dollars
They are crying foul over the mere five percent royalty cut received for their own oil, while the Putrajaya administration “steals” 95 percent of petro dollars.
“People from both Sabah and Sarawak realise that they are being short-changed. They know there has been daylight robbery of their god-given richness,” said a source.
Another contentious issue is the existence of an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrants as rightful citizens in Sabah.
Sabahans termed the illegal immigrants, mostly Filipino and Indonesian Muslims, as former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s legacy.
“The government since under Mahathir has systematically brought in these aliens and granted them citizenships. These aliens are now legal MyKad holders in Sabah. It’s absolutely outrageous and ludicrous,” said the source.
The illegal immigrant issue in Sarawak is not as disturbing as in Sabah although it is equally damaging.
'Raping of forest wealth'
The major issue in Sarawak is the “raping of state forest wealth” by the Umno-backed Taib Mahmud’s government at the expense of the indigenous population.
The natives are also disgruntled by the usurpation of their customary land rights by the authorities despite a recent apex court ruling against it.
Sabahans and Sarawakians are also said to be peeved with the “Malay-nisation and Islamisation” process of their states’ bureaucracy and political systems.
Activists claimed that the federal government had appointed native Muslims to helm various ministerial portfolios and government departments to hasten and fasten this process.
“These Muslim leaders and bureaucratic heads are puppets dancing to the tune played by their masters in Putrajaya,” said the source.
Yes, if all else don't work, I am one who is for independence! Let's liberate our east Malaysian states from all the corrupt suckers and parasites who have siphoned almost everything from us!

Only in Umno-ruled M'sia, can Christmas carolling jeopardise national security

Malaysian churches are concerned and well they should be. Targeted by Prime Minister Najib Razak's government, they have borne the burnt of all sorts of accusations including that they were part of a plot to over throw him and install a Christian prime minister in predominantly Muslim Malaysia.
Now, one of the Christians' core rights is being challenged. There is a huge debate over whether the very act of carolling requires a police permit and amazing as it may seem, this is a real situation and part of a greater problem caused by greedy and irresponsible political leaders.
Malaysia is reversing into a state of fear. Ruling party UMNO and its cohorts in the BN coalition are using racial politics plus religious bigotry to garner votes to stay in power. So caught up are they in their quest to retain the federal government at all costs, Najib and his colleagues have regressed Malaysia into a state much like the old Soviet Union.
Hisham and a total blank!
As usual, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, who is Najib's cousin, was in a total blank about the matter. This is the second time, the Home Minister has publicly declared that he was uninformed of the going-ons within Malaysia. The first time was when Hisham's own brother was embroiled in a banknote scandal involving an Australian company.
Hishammuddin had blatantly insisted that he knew nothing of brother’s business dealings, which is the oddest thing considering it involved national security – the printing of Malaysian currency notes!. Also quite a statement to make when you are the Home Minister, and have direct access to all the nation's intelligence services.
The latest admission that he was not informed that police permits were required in order to conduct carolling sessions is just as incredible.
Additional requirements this year
Actually, the practice of applying to the police has been going on for 30 years. It is only this year that additional requirements have been laid down and churches need to comply in order to be given permission to conduct carolling sessions.
Johor police insisted that carollers must apply for permits two weeks before going ahead with their musical visits. Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff was quoted as saying that organizers should inform the police on the number of participants, the places they planned to visit and the time. It is known that the police were asking Christians for more details than usual this year including the full names and contact details of homeowners whom they intended to visit this carolling season.
And though it is clear Johor police are making life difficult for the churches, BN ministers refuse to admit this. Different ministers appear to have been tasked to say different things to different people. “No permit is needed for Christmas carolling. You don’t even need to inform the police,” said Deputy Home Lee Chee Leong. Lee’s statement echoes Hisham's own statement made on Twitter that federal police have told him no permit is required by Christians organising their musical visits over Christmas.
But Information minister Rais Yatim has also come to issue a rather rude statement that Malaysians should not take the government for granted just because "the prime minister has liberalised several aspects of our life. The police still have their power." Rais was referring to KLCC flash mob to protest the Najib administration's harsh law on peaceful citizen gatherings.
Deliberate confusion
There is clear confusion by the ministers and the police force. Who really has the final say? By right, the Home Minister has final say in any matter because the police answer directly to him. Yet, the Johor and Klang police have acted contrary to the minister’s wishes. Several questions immediately pop out over this issue.
Firstly, is carolling a threat to national security? The manner in which the police have asked for information seems to conclude, that in the eyes of the police; carolling is a threat worthy of being monitored. Carollers seem to be accorded the same status as tracking criminals or drug-dealers.
It seems that the police now have the power to decide which household is worthy and deserving of being able to receive and listen to Christmas songs sung by carollers. How strange? Are they trying to protect the position of Islam, to demonize Christians, to pander to the right-wing Muslims in UMNO or a combination of all three?

Part two…Secondly, the sudden need to place attention on Christians and their activities is worrying. Why the need to monitor these activities? Is it wise to allow public money to be wasted on frivolous activities such as stalking carollers or forming special carolling monitoring units?
Police a wing of UMNO?
Indeed, the over-zealous nature of the police actions speaks of a deeper truth, harking back to the recently-passed Peaceful Assembly Bill 2011, which gives the police huge discretionary rights over the citizenry.
Because they now have a bill to persecute a gathering of people, the police chiefs may feel inclined to wield their power in the way they think best helps the cause of the political master. After all, carollers is a “movement of people” and can also ingeniously be compared to a street demonstration if shrewdly interpreted against the letter of the Peaceful Assembly Bill 2011. And when persecuted, it will be organisers who would bear the brunt of the law and in the case of carolling groups, it will be the churches.
And this is how the police can take the heat off their political masters by initiating the very action that their bosses want to carry out but do not wish to take the rap for in case it boomerangs. And what the police are trying to 'prove' to the targeted Malay and Muslim community is that UMNO-BN is defender of the position of Islam, to demonize Christians and to pander to the right-wing voters. This is how it gels up.
The state of play
What then is happening to Malaysia? We now live in an environment where laws are created to ensure citizens can be persecuted and detained with the greatest ease.
We have social activists being barred from entering certain states, whilst gangsters and drug-pushers come and go as they please.
We have the police busy detaining simple folks who voice out their dissatisfaction at a failed government, while the officials within the government squander public funds on luxurious condominiums in shocking displays of corruption.
What has happened to Malaysia after 54 years of UMNO-BN rule? We have become a people scared of our own shadow, thanks to the BN government. Above all, what is right and what is wrong now fully depends on UMNO.
Indeed it is a sad day for Malaysia to have to look for answers from a party that has the least clue of what is moral and what is not.
How not to shoot your own foot!! Read and learn from this. Fact of the matter is as a Canadian citizen she automatically loses her Malaysian citizenship. She therefore lies every time she files any statement to SSM, i.e Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia. And since SSM will not, because it cannot and even if it can, it can't and even if that was not a problem it won't, all of us now can LIE to SSM if we need to. They cannot touch you as they wold have forfeited that right.

Keep up the great work, SR. Malaysians in general and Sarawakians in particular would be forever grateful for all that SR has exposed of the Taib's family and their corrupt lives. What proof is further needed of corruption, abuse of power and the rape of Sarawak/Malaysia than that of their monetary worth. For in no way could they have accumulated such wealth without being so.
If the Taibs think that their silence is golden, I certainly think their silence is acknowledgement of guilt. And we know that asking the Malaysian GOM agencies to do the right thing will be still born for the foreseeable future, the exposes' to the international audiences remain the best option available.
