Ban Lifte

The Sate of Sabah has got round, months after GE14, to lifting its immigration ban on certain political personalities based in the Peninsula.

A good move, albeit somewhat tardy. Which reminds us that the neighbouring State of Sarawak, now a partner in the PH government, has steadfastly maintained its similar ban on a number of personalities; despite being, apparently, a supporter of the PH administration. Why?

Petty vindictiveness on the part of a senile Governor? Similar feelings on the part of a Chief Minister and State administration? Or just plain fear that the presence of some of those still banned from entering the State might act adversely against the State’s bribery enabled administration?

State Governor Taib is notorious for remaining silent about allegations against himself and his political cronies but surely this continuing ban, never intended to be misused as it is being, has no remaining justification and should be lifted forthwith.
