Income 7 Billion?

Press reports quote Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Openg as stating that his State’s annual income is RM7 billion. This as part of attempts to rubbish the Federal Finance Minster’s warning about future bankruptcy.

Sarawakians, especially the oppressed Dayak majority, would be interested to know what proportion of that claimed 7 billion derives from duties on timber exports. And how much from income taxes levied on timber companies and their billionaire owners. The answer? Very little indeed and why? Because State Governor Taib, who controls everything that happens in Sarawak, is the principal beneficiary of the rape of Sarawak’s tropical forest; or what little is left of it after forty years of theft by him and his Chinese associates.

It is just possible that, by twisting his neck through 360 degrees, the Chief Minister has managed not to notice these facts about Sarawak, its governance and the crime wave that has disfigured the State since its Muslim minority, with help from Kuala Lumpur, succeeded in ousting the elected Dayak Chief Minster to replace him with politicians from the Muslim minority. Not many Sarawakians will go along with that. Just those whose pockets have been filled and whose mouths have been stuffed with stolen money from the destruction of the rain forest.

Those responsible will undoubtedly burn in the next world but that is no reason not to jail them in this.
