Khalid's Special Team

So the IGP has at last woken up from his long sleep and noticed the 1MDB series of major crimes. Better still he says he has started to do what he is greatly overpaid to do; namely pursue crime and criminals. The taxpayer should perhaps be grateful that the money he spends on this lazy useless police chief is not being entirely wasted.

Might we enquire why Khalid has woken from his long sleep and untwisted his neck from looking the wrong way? As he has done nothing for months, years even, except try to misuse the Interpol system to harrass those exposing Najib, why act now?

The answer of course is that, as always, he is following Najib’s criminal directions. Now that the 1MDB scandal has been exposed to the Malaysian public by the PAC, Najib has to find a scapegoat. Otherwise, as the all powerful single shareholder in 1MDB, how to escape blame and prosecution?.

Fortunately there seems to be a ready made scapegoat to hand in the person of the former Managing Director, Sharol. Despite the fact that Najb signed off on everything Sharol did he is to be blameless?  It seems he is prepared to be seen as a fool rather than as a rogue?

However problems remain. Granted that lazy Khalid will no doubt drag out the investigation the eventual choice is clear. Prosecute Sharol or get lapdog Apandi to find no offence dsclosed!  After all he specialises in that but no one in Malaysia will accept it and if Pandy wont prosecute private prosecutions will follow.

There is only one way for Najis to avoid being forced into the witness box and that is for Sharol to plead guilty. What then? Probation? Or a small fine?  Not one of Najis’ puppet judges would dare to so act in the full glare of publicity. So a long, very long, sentence is inevitable. Theft of billions of public money can only be properly punished by a series of maximum sentences, running consecutively.

Will Sharol sign up for that? He may be stupid but that stupid? If, as seems probable, he runs for it where can he hide from Khalid’s favourite Interpol Red List?. Fatso would have to put him on it.

Eventually Najis will have to accept that a fall guy is not the way out of this. He has hanged himself with his “0nly with my signature” rule.  Designed to keep all the loot for himself it will in the end hang him instead.
