On the official front Datuk Seri Najib Razak is facing down the allegations made against 1MDB, Malaysia’s strategic investment fund, accountable to the Finance Minister cum PM.

Here the major culprit is the British based Sarawak Report claiming to have all manner of documented evidence but yet will not surrender it to someone who has the locus standi, like DAP’s Tony Pua, to make a police report and kick start a forensic investigation, thus ending the witch hunt…..

As for the Sarawak Report, based as it is in Britain and headed by the sister-in-law of one of Britain’s former prime ministers no less, one is hard pressed to understand why it is fighting our battles. Is the White Rajah complex with its white supremacist over and undertones well and alive? Is this a case of “the White man’s burden”, the rescue of helpless natives from a bunch of ruthless wogs?

Or is there more to this than meets the eye? The 1MDB controversy is being relentlessly fuelled. That something is amiss with the company is not disputed. But if documented evidence is available why not set up channels for the prosecution of those responsible.

At the risk of drawing attention to a little read website, Sarawak Report would like to answer the challenge about motivation to include an observation on the writer of this article. Askia Adam.

Ms Adam most definitely appears to have a motivation in casting aspersions against our research and our own motivations, in that she is clearly part of an inner circle surrounding the current Finance Minister in charge of 1MDB.

This Finance Minister cum Prime Minister was previously Defence Minister and was caught up in all manner of corruption scandals during that era as well.  We quote from a report from the time:

“The involvement of IMT Defence only became known because in March 2005, a former director of IMT, Mohamad Zainuri Mohamad Idrus, filed suit against several Adib-related companies, alleging that Adib and his sister, Askiah Adam, “wanted to prevent him from exposing the reality of the Sukhoi deal.” In 2006, Mohamad
Zainuri lodged a police report alleging that Adib had stolen the US$108 million (RM 380 million) commission that was supposed to be channeled to the company…”
