Big Brother Boasting

“Senior Minister (Security Cluster)” Ismail Sabri is reported in the Press as saying that nearly 1500 Malaysians had been arrested in the past day for flouting the MCO.

Has it yet occurred to him that this very high figure results from the failure of his, illegal, “government” to explain the facts to the general public? Or are the latter to take it that this new source of revenue is welcome to a PN administration with a record of being willing to take money anywhere they can get it?

If the “security cluster” appellation is anything more than petty self promotion the public are entitled to know what it implies, who authorised its use and why? The use of grandiose and meaningless titles is a well known tactic of regimes which have little or nothing else with which to promote themselves. Mein Fuhrer and Il Duce come to mind.

If “Prime Minister” Muyhiddin has nothing else to do, apart from golf, he might take time to enlighten the voters on the new honorifics he and his “ministers” are using to inflate their images.
