Negative Photograph

Malaysia’s most senior police officer, the Inspector General, is  warning the public not to photograph his officers while they are checking motorists!  Why not?

Surely publicity that the PDRM are doing what they, including the IGP, are paid to to should be positive evidence of police efficiency; a matter about which there are more than one points of view.

The only possible reason for banning, or trying to ban, such photography can be if the police are acting unlawfully, such as accepting bribes from motorists.  Surely the IGP should welcome evidence of that; rather than condemning the photography.

In any case photography is not, yet, illegal in Malaysia though the coup government of invalid PM Muyhiddin would probably welcome a reduction of unfavourable photography.
