RM12 Billion Road

It is reported that a Sarawak State government Minister has called for the expenditure, from central government funds naturally, of that enormous sum to build a road allowing movement along the State’s frontier with Indonesia to enable defence forces to have the ability to counter any invasion.

Admittedly Sarawak State ministers have little with which to occupy themselves, especially as mega crook Taib Mahmud has or is about to hand over its last forest to his son, but to waste official time (and salary) on absurdities of this kind affords the people of Malaysia an insight into the make up of the current Sarawak State government. Presumably the fact that timber money will soon be unavailable to be stolen  is causing a hunt round for alternative sources of illicit wealth and the “border road” project  could be milked for years if not decades.

Better still it would be federal funds that would have to pay for it imposing no restrictions on the ability of Sarawak ministers to raid domestic funds. Minister Masing is not known as the brightest brain in the GPS box and one wonders which of his fellow GPS members actually came up with this absurd, but potentially very lucrative, idea? Would the Chief Minister care to comment? Or better still send this fantasist into retirement?
