The latest in the battle by Opposition MLA’s to resist declaring their assets is to claim that there is no law requiring them to do so.
Morality, it seems, plays no part in their thinking. What honest politician would resist a chance to prove to his constituents that he IS an honest politician? So far as UMNO are concerned that question answers itself.
Of course it is easy to see why UMNO politicians are unwilling to make this declaration. One has only to read the account of the evidence at former BOSSKU Najib’s trials to see the extent of bribery and corruption during his time in office. Greedy though he is it is hard to believe that he kept all the loot for himself and that no other UMNO members benefited. Hence the reluctance
