Najib Snubbed By UK PM?!

Najib Snubbed By UK PM?!

This post is also available in: Iban, Malay

The flash crowd that turned up to boo Najib’s event at Mansion House (the official residence of the City of London’s Mayor) was larger than yesterday’s outside Downing Street.  They had been joined by Amnesty International, who have spoken out about the treatment of the Bersih demonstrators at the weekend.  Amnesty commands considerable respect in the UK.

The Malaysian PM had come to court the City’s investors and it was embarrassing.  Investors do not like countries with uncertain human rights records and an unhappy middle class.

Few non-Malaysians turned up in the end, but some of the investors who did went and chatted first to the crowd of protesters outside.  One, who described himself as ‘working for a global investment company’, said that he was well aware of the human rights issues in Malaysia and confirmed that his company monitors the matter and that such issues are of concern.

Brushed off

Meanwhile, the main topic in the crowd was the news that Najib’s lunch with Cameron had been cancelled.  Was it owing to the human rights issues or simply because the UK PM was too busy they wondered?  Neither looked particularly good from the perspective of the Malaysia PM !

Once again this gathering went off peacefully and the policing was minimal and friendly.  Malaysia secret service people were there of course, frantically taking photos of the crowd with the doubtless intention of finding out as much about the Malaysian nationals there and later making their lives as difficult as they could.  So we photographed them too.

Najib swept in at the agreed time with a big convoy of Malaysian cars and hurried up the red carpet inside.  He saw the crowd and gave them a cheery wave – as if they had come up to give him their support!  But, he didn’t risk going over to give autographs!

I pay my taxes and I agree with the Government of Malaysia's stance on illegal gatherings. The PDRM's methods may need refinement and consideration, but as long as they can prevent a culture of stupid blind sheeps from taking root here trying to disguise themselves as the majority by shouting so loudly on the streets, then I say keep at it.

For the benefit of English-speaking readers, Party Chap Mata is probably an umno cybertrooper, he says there were only a few "English monkeys" and they were not enthusiastic about holding banners, and were paid by Bersih and Anwar Ibrahim. I doubt he knows who Amnesty International is. He is entitled to his opinion but he is pretty vulgar and obviously has no interest in rational debate. I suggest Sarawak Report logs his IP and chucks him out…By a Sarawakian

Hey Party Chap Mata, don't dare to put your name? what's with the special cartoon's name? and by the way, it's not about holding posters in any manner that describes peoples action, does it? and do you think they would accept money from ambega? Please… their currency is much greater than ours, do you think they want our money? their government even give allowances to the poor people.. and you thought it is like Malaysia? Please be wise when you are speaking out your thoughts and don't embarrassed Malaysia even more than it is now because of the PM's action. Oh yeah, I was wondering.. why do those people that doesn't thinks correctly likes to declare a human being as an animal? you're saying ENglishmen is monkeys and you're most favourite phrase where u say chinese a pig… As I know, maybe you're thoughts are what you think you are you know. you always like to take human being as an animal, is it because you yourself thinks yourself as an animal? Please understand that I am not trying to say your view is wrong. everyone has their own stand and view but it is not wise to criticize others views and believes.

And to the rest of the world reading his comment.. Please do not assume all Malaysians are like that and there are a lot of us still fighting for our rights.

  • Jay

Thank you for the great pictures and thanks too for all those who turned up. Many Malaysians studying, living working in UK. Others, non-Malaysians concerned about what happened on Saturday 9 July. In interviews, PM Najib tried to portray Malaysia as a great place for inward investment. He spoke of financial management, transformation programmes and so on.

But he doesn't seem to realise even now, that the thing requiring urgent transformation, is the government and how the people get to choose. The biggest deficit is the democratic deficit. PM Najib brushes off criticisms of his handling of rally by adding insult to injury. There was no undue force, or it was all "politics"! As the Guardian said, the Malaysian leadership should smell the coffee.

In 2008, when found out, Najib Tun Razak (that's right, that's the full name of the criminal) had to admit in parliament that he took 500 million ringgit "commission" for buying 2 re-fitted old French submarines…he says commission for "co-ordinating services".

This admission was made 2 years after he had 2 special forces members of his PERSONAL security team murder and blow up the body of his Mongolian mistress with C4 explosives issued by the Army of which Najib Tun Razak was then the Defence Minister. His mistress (who was the ex-girlfriend of Najib's good friend, one Abdul Razak Baginda) was the translator in the submarine deal and come to Kuala Lumpur to demand her share of the commission.

So, why can't Rosmah, co-conspirator and wife of Najib Tun Razak, buy as many diamonds as she wants?

So, the telling feature of Najib Tun Razak's criminal secrets is those sheepish furtive eyes darting about as he addressed British investors and whenever he speaks.

NAJIB TUN RAZAK, PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA, IS A HOMICIDAL CRIMINAL WHO HAS NOT BEEN BROUGHT TO JUSTICE FOR THE MURDER OF A YOUNG MONGOLIAN MISTRESS.

    http://my.news.yahoo.com/scorpene-probe-altantuya

It has already been brought up in the Malaysian Parliament that €114 million (RM500 million) has been paid to a Malaysia-based company called Perimekar, for “coordination and support services” for the submarines transaction. Perimekar was wholly owned by another company, KS Ombak Laut Sdn Bhd, which in turn was controlled by Najib’s aide, Razak Baginda. Baginda’s wife Mazlinda was the principal shareholder in this company.

Perimekar was registered in 2001, a few months before the signing of the contracts for the sale and the company did not appear to have the financial resources to complete the contract. None of the directors and shareholders of Perimekar have any experience in the construction or maintenance of submarines.

Altantuya Shaariibuu, a 28-year-old Mongolian translator and Razak Baginda’s jilted lover, had allegedly participated in negotiations over the purchase of the submarines. By her own admission in a letter found after her death, she was attempting to blackmail Razak Baginda for US$500,000. She was shot in October 2006 and her body was blown up with military explosives by two bodyguards attached to Najib’s office after Razak Baginda went to Najib’s chief of staff, Musa Safri, for help in stopping her demands.

    What were Altantuya’s Killers’ Motives?

After being acquitted in November 2008 under questionable circumstances of participating in her murder, Razak Baginda left the country for England. The bodyguards were convicted but no motive was ever established for their actions.

The submarine deal was never brought up in court during the murder trial which saw prosecutors, defense attorneys and the judge judiciously keeping Najib’s name out of the proceedings.

    • Penan

I get your point. Why AG did not file an appeal against the acquittal of Razak Baginda? Very seldom AG did not file an appeal when he lost his case. Secondly, the two convicted policemen are alleged not acquainted with Altantuya, but then what was their real motive to murder her, if not acting on instruction.

How does corruption affect people’s lives?

Around the globe, corruption impacts people’s lives in a multitude of ways. In the worst cases, corruption costs lives. In countless other cases, it costs their freedom, health, or money. It has dire global consequences, trapping millions in poverty and misery, while breeding social, economic and political unrest. Corruption is both a CAUSE of poverty, and a barrier to overcoming it.

  • GET EDUCATED PLEASE

I seriously doubt that BN supporters ever questioned why Malaysia's wealth is so low. These simple minded BN supporters fail to understand that as the nations economy grows; it will be the people that benefits most from it. It creates employment and attracts foreign investors. These factors alone will increase consumer spending of the nation which in turn raises the GDP of Malaysia.

However as BN continues reign over this country; there will be no growth due to existing levels of corruption and brain drain. Now brain drain seems to be a serious issue that is going on in Malaysia. The majority of the nations youth are heading overseas and STAYING overseas due to the better job prospects. So where are we suppose to draw the talent from to lead the country into the future?

And a point to note, it infuriates me that BN tends to always resort to racial issues. Gaining support through providing minimal benefits to the majority race; yes MINIMAL in comparison to Western countries. And in relation to that, the benefits provided by the West are dependent on your residency status – not race. Every single semi-protest has to be turned into a racial issue by BN and my exact sentiments are post no.28 (note the time of post; he/she sure is grouchy early in the morning)

Is that what Malaysia's race composition made of? Plrease go and get educated..that race composition is for Malaya only repeat Malaya..

Bro, Do you know that If it is Malaysia, it is more than Malays,Chinese and Indians. There are two former COUNTRIES that joined Malaya to form Malaysia. The countries are:

      1. North Borneo..now Sabah.

      2. Sarawak.

These two countries joined Malaya plus Singapore to form MALAYSIA ON 16TH SEPTEMBER, 1963 and 2 years later,Singapore withdrew as Singapore is ruled by smarter lot.

So please take a look at racial composition before you open your mouth bro.Just take a look at PETRONAS twin towers and ask yourself "WHERE DID THE MONEY COME FROM TO BUILT THE TOWERS? OIL and GAS from Sarawak and SABAH.They are just too many begging states in WEST MALAYSIA..paying the salaries of you know who??

oh so true dude. Malaya is nothing without Sabah & Sarawak.

But we have gone off topic! hha.

      • abu bakar

True bro, we the Borneon have been supporting the Malaya all this while. Unfortunately, we Borneon are also the cause for the Be End to succeed in ruling Malaysia once more in 2008. If only we are not so backward and dependent on the government mass media for news, we could have change the face of Malaysia.

This time around, come GE 13, we must not be blindsided by the Be End just from their handouts of RM50 per vote. That is the mentality of majority of the simple minded kampung folks. Hopefully the young generation can change that.!!!

Bersihkan Sabah and Sarawak from the tyranny of this scumbags.

In response to the topic, well.. I heard the world knows how the Malaysian government handled the rally and the world is not happy. The action was against all human rights.

It was the other way around, the police was out of control, not the protester.

I guess the police got too excited. *laugh*

I guess the BERSIH topic is discussed privately between the UK PM and the MY PM. They show a happy face in the photo, but behind the scene, they TALK.

Scores in custody after London anarchist riot

Nearly 200 people remain in custody in London after violent riots erupted during a huge anti-austerity protest on Saturday.

Up to 500,000 protesters converged on the centre of the capital to protest against cost-cutting measures brought in by prime minister David Cameron’s Conservative government.

A breakaway group of 300 anarchists caused havoc in the city’s exclusive West End, smashing into banks, throwing fire bombs and paint at shops, and setting off missiles in Trafalgar Square until the early hours of the morning.

A total of 201 people were arrested and 84 were injured, including 31 police officers.

The main protest was the biggest union-organised rally in London’s post-war history, with teachers, students and nurses marching to Hyde Park to tell the Government its deficit reduction plan was too savage.

But business secretary Vince Cable says the government is unmoved.

“No government would change its fundamental economic policies simply in response to a demonstration of that kind,” he said.

Where was Amnesty then? Okay for ‘anarchists’ in the UK to go to jail, but not ‘anarchists’ in Malaysia?

I am not surprise lunch with Cameron get cancelled due to the hacking incident at UK since its such a big issue at UK and US now. It might not be Cameron feel uneasy with the incident at Malaysia recently.

it might be good if they have lunch so Cameron might have chance to question more about the issues….since Cameron was consider opposition party leader before being PM….remember previously, UK gov was run by Labor Party.

Najib's slogan " 1 Malaysia"..Can we have a Sarawakian to be the next PRIME MINISTER Of Malaysia?

Next PM must be from Sarawak, then from Sabah..these two states contribute significantly to the FEDERAL coffers.

Why scare if PM is from Sarawak?? that is if we Bolehland practices "1 MALAYSIA" concept. It is only fair.

Datuk IDRIS JALA..Prime Minister of Malaysia says that wealth must be distributed fairly among the Rakyat.

Please let us all Sarawakians and Sabahans must push for PM's post.We need PKR and PAS support…another food for thought…that is if '1 Malaysia concept' is to become a reality.
