A Sarawak State Minister has publicly urged that the new MACC chief “should be given a chance to prove herself” As he did not elaborate further his motive for this statement remains unclear. Was it merely a first splash in a rush to leave the sinking ship GPS or an attempt to secure future clemency?

Whatever the motive, it is clear that Sarawak “ministers” have got the message that future MACC enquiries into GPS and its mega criminal boss Taib Mahmud are now only a matter of time. And a short time at that!

Since the new appointment bears the personal imprimatur of the Prime Minister the future activities and progress of the MACC will touch him also and it is to be hoped, and believed, that this appointment will mean, among other things, that the ban on enquiries into the activities of the criminal Sarawak State government has gone and that the whole truth about the looting of the State by the Taib gang will see the light of day. And in the criminal courts at that.
