Speaking To A Deaf Ear

PH are calling for a session of Parliament to “discuss the Covid crisis”.  While they are right to seek opportunities to correct the mistakes of the illegal PN “government” in that connection and even more right to make public their concern about PN
mishandling of the crisis, it is a mistake to try to do so through the medium of an illegal Assembly.

So far as the latter is concerned they should be concentrating on defeating this illegally constituted government as soon as the Assembly is allowed to sit. That is what the Constitution prescribes and the fact that others have ignored the Constitution and their responsibilities under it is no reason to confer any impression of legality on an illegal administration.

In any can, in practical terms, what do they expect to be able to achieve. Proof of PN incompetence as well as venality? The fact that the “Prime Minster” is unfit to govern even if he is able to tear himself away from the golf course? Every Malaysian already knows that, just as they know that their basic law is being flouted for personal advantage.
