Worst People

PAS boss Hadi Awang has accused the PH government of being the “worst people”  It is surprising to find an Islamic guru attaching that description to political opponents while he and his party support the discredited UMNO whose former leadership face trial on various criminal charges: including mega corruption (presumably an activity not favoured by Islamic doctrine)

If asked to explain why he and his party support UMNO would he say that he feels obliged to do so in return for past financial support? And did that support cause his PAS party to drop its long enmity towards UMNO?

By attacking PH in the terms he used does he want to claim that fellow Malays are the”worst people”? Or does he intend to limit that description to Malays who voted against him and his corrupt BN allies.

On what basis, religious or otherwise, does he justify his support for BN/UMNO?  Is it permissible to associate with criminals so long as they pay up? OR does fellow adherence to Islam excuse all sins? As a religious guru he ought to be able to clear that point. If he wants to !

Worst people is a broad description. Will he now say what he thinks about people who take stolen money from the public purse. Or does Islam sanction that? A little clarification is in order. Will he give it? Don’t hold your breath.
