Press reports indicate that the MACC are “powerless” to make MLAs disclose their assets. What nonsense. Powerless perhaps in the sense of lacking courage but certainly not so in respect of the law. The whole point of the MACC is to discover corruption and bring those guilty of it to justice.
What better place to start than the Legislative Assembly containing as it does the Najibs and Zahids of this world. If there is any point at all in the MACC it should stop looking for police officers taking five ringgit bribes from traffic offenders and go where the major bribery and corruption is. The Legislative Assembly!
