With hardly a farewell splash EC Chairman Hashim jumps overboard from the Commission.
Let us hope that the PH government do not leave matters at that.
During his tenure, and especially before the election, this man conducted a totally illegal campaign to try to rig the result. Unheard of manipulation of boundaries. Improper registration of voters and every other breach of electoral law that can be thought of. He did it all.
And now to try to escape the consequences of his acts he resigns! He should be properly investigated and if evidence of illegal conduct is there he should be prosecuted. Not only for his crimes but also as a lesson to other civil servants who may in future think that illegal acts will go unpunished.
